S.H.I.T

Don't be shocked, don't turn away...That title isn't a swear word, its an acronym for my new favorite saying:
So Happy It's Thursday!!!

I'm always happy it's Thursday because it means the end of my work week, but this week I'm especially happy because it's the end of THIS week in particular...this week has been INSANE. Probably the craziest since I've been back at work...if you've talked to me on the phone at all over the past few days you'll know what I'm talking about but in case you haven't, here's what's been going on:

Now read that 10 times in a row REALLY fast and you'll get a glimpse into what I've been feeling like.

Even though it's been crazy, the silver lining has NOT been lost on me- I am SO grateful for Carla, my good friend who has been watching Logan (in addition to her own baby) every day this week while I worked. IF it weren't for her, my crazy week would have been THAT much crazier- so I cannot thank her enough.

Aside from just watching Logan, she also did an AWESOME job of documenting his time with her...take a peek!

And she even took a video!! Love you Carla!!

Independent Lil Man

First off, I hope no one thinks this post is sad...I think it's pretty great and shows just how great Logan can be.

The other day, I was getting a gift ready for a friends daughter's birthday party and was a little preoccupied while Logan and I were in the living room. I had one eye on the little man, but while wrapping the present and signing the card I definitely didn't have my full attention on Logan...but there was no need. He was completely content playing by himself. He pulled out a box that had his toys in it, opened the lid and proceeded to remove any toy that he wanted to play with (Which was basically EVERY toy in the box). I just looked over at him for a minute and was just kind of in awe at how far we've come. 10 months ago he was a blob that just ate, pee'd and cried...a few months after that, he was a smiling blob that occasionally let out some sort of verbal communication that WASN'T a cry...a few months after that, there was more interaction but not a lot of independence, and now we're here- with this little boy who can think, play and communicate all on his own. Life is amazing and I am reminded of that every day I have with Logan!! I love you Little Man!

Birthdays!

Jason's Birthday was last week and to celebrate I pulled out a couple Birthday Traditions from when I was growing up...

First- a big breakfast! (Normally, we would do German Pancakes for the birthday boy or girl, but I didn't have the time...so a classic eggs, bacon and toast breakfast is what was served!)

And second...foil crowns!!! I made a mini one for Logan just for fun...

And then a big one for Daddy so they could match!

On Saturday, Jason and I met with 13 of his closest friends and had a great sushi dinner at our favorite sushi place in Hermosa (www.roksushikitchen.com) it was an AWESOME night and we were so happy to celebrate Jason in such great company- Thank You to all that made it out!

Logan stayed home with Lisette while we were out, but I didn't want him to feel left out, so I dressed him in an appropriate bib for his afternoon meal.... California roll anyone?

9 Months of Bliss

A certain chubby legged someone turned 9 months old WAAAAAAAAY back on March 24th...but Mommy has been so busy that she didn't get around to doing his 9-month photos until April 13th...that's ok right? Right.

It's been said before, and I'll say it again...I think he gets CUTER each month! How is that possible?!

PS- I'm pretty proud of myself for having the fore-site to put our monthly image on BOTH sides of his onesie this time around because I knew the days of getting a sweet photo of Logan laying still or sitting still for that matter were long gone- and sure enough, 90% of the photos are of his back! Go figure!

Sunday Night Catch-Up!

A lot has gone on since my last post, so I'll try to catch up tonight with a few posts about what we've been up to!

First up...a visit from Grandpa Laub!

Jason's Dad drove down from Fresno a couple of weeks ago to get a quick Logan-Fix- it was a great visit and we so appreciated him driving ALL the way down for a visit! While he was here we spent late nights talking and catching up on life, visited LACMA with Logan (And got him signed up for his very own membership), enjoyed some scrumptious wedge salads (Made by "Chef Mark") and spent a LOT of time playing with, talking to and talking about Mr. Logan!

Unfortunately, we took hardly ANY pictures of these events! But we did get some super cute ones from night #1...enjoy!

Wait, you mean this bag isn't my gift? There's something inside it?
Chase and I are enjoying the paper!
3 Laubsters
A bottle's a bottle right? Logan seemed to think so!
All smiles!!
Someone's in love...
I think the feeling is mutual!

Uh-Oh....

He may not have clapping or waving down yet, but walking is something he's about to check off his list I think...look out Chase and Earl, he's coming after YOU first!

Rolly Polly

Even with all of those rolls he still seems LONG and LEAN!

Lovin that baby boy more and more every day!

Did You Put Logan To Bed?

Yup...he's totally asleep.

Or so we thought.

Over the past few weeks Logan has decided he's done being the awesome sleeper he was from 11weeks up until now. We've read it could be separation anxiety, or since he's learning new skills he wants to try them out every waking moment...I don't care what it is, I would just like to go back to getting a full nights sleep (Or have SOMEONE get up every now and again and take a night shift...hint hint HINT!)...anyway....Logan goes down for several hours starting at about 7:30pm each night- but somewhere between then and 6am he wakes up, starts crying and THIS is what we find him doing in his crib...

True Story

This past weekend, Logan and I headed down to The Coffee Bean to get me some tea one morning (trust me, with the lack of sleep that was occurring, it was absolutely NECESSARY in order to function properly as a Mother). As we were waiting for my drink, I sat down on a chair and had Logan in his stroller next to me. A very nice couple came over and sat down next to us. They were Oooohing and Awwwwing at Logan and thought he was the bees knees. At one point, Logan looked at the woman and made this face:

The guy started laughing and said "ooh, are you flirting? Honey, I think he likes you." Then Logan looked at the guy and made THIS face:
Complete with "Phhhbbbhhhhbtttt..." noise.

I turned to the guy and politely said "well, apparently he does NOT like you!"

Our Handsome Boy!

One of the greatest things about living in Playa Vista is getting to utilize the great community amenities they have- my favorite being the Playa Vista Mom's Group (which I am now a board member of- thank you very much! more on that later )- this Mom's group does some amazing things- they organize field trips for the kids, swim lessons in the summer time, there are 2 big annual parties they host as well as some smaller things specifically for the Moms- like the monthly Mixer we are all invited too (We meet at one of the local restaurants for dinner and drinks away from the kiddos!). Along with all of THOSE great items, they also have a local photographer come to Playa Vista a few times a year to shoot "mini sessions" of the families- you can pay either $30 or $50 for a 15 minute photo session from which you get to choose either 5 or 10 touched up shots of your choosing to print and have! For whatever reason, we haven't been able to participate in any of the photoshoots yet, but this past weekend they held a Mothers Day photoshoot and I wasn't going to miss that for the world!

We'll get the professional pictures in about 3 weeks, but Logan was so adorable in his suit jacket and tie on this day I couldn't resist snapping a few of my own! Take a look at our dashing young man! Look out ladies!!
