Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery...

...if that's true, then Bakerella, consider yourself flattered!

Way back on Labor Day, Jason, Logan and I went to our friends BBQ in Pasadena (You know, the BBQ I blogged about that Logan cried and fussed the ENTIRE Time we were there!)- I offered to bring something to the BBQ and Becky suggested I bring a dessert- *perfect! I'd been wanting to try my hand a delicious recipe I saw on bakerella's website, and I figured this was my chance to make it! So rather than just make it and blog that it was delicious, I decided to do something a little funny and imitate bakerella's blog from when she made the same here we go!

I started by grinding up the graham crackers...I actually ended up using our food processor in Jason's bathroom...Logan was sleeping in the living room while I was baking and I figured the food processor would be WAY too loud for I decided to head to the bathroom because it was the farthest room from Logan's location...sorry babe! I don't think you noticed...I did a pretty good job of cleaning up! Haha.

Next, I added the delicious brown sugar!
This, however, is where I divert from what Bakeralla has on her website...because I had to deal with THIS ingredient next:

But, after a few hours, I was able to continue and pack down the crust in a pan...So yummy already!

Next comes the best part...the cheesecake! I was so surprised how easy it was to make! All it took was some cream cheese, sour cream, a bit of flour, vanilla, eggs and sugar! Who knew?!

I LOOOVE my kitchen aid! Makes everything SO easy...and pretty at the same time!

The cheesecake on top of the graham cracker crust- Yum!
Good enough to eat! But I was good and didn't....well, I didn't eat MUCH of it!

Next up...Chocolate Ganache! Oh yes, I said GANACHE, I'm pretty sure that makes me fancy :)

Almost done! Just in the fridge with it overnight and it will be ready to enjoy the next day!! Though I was in the guest room with Logan while everyone at the BBQ enjoyed these little treats, the word on the street is that they were an absolute hit! Even Becky's brother who is a chef thought they were good! Woot Woot!

Someone found his hand!

Logan made a huge jump in development this past weekend...he found his hands!! And has been a sucking fiend ever since!!

Our pediatrician (Correction...FORMER pediatrician...stupid insurance company change!) encourages this behavior because she says, unlike a pacifier, hands don't fall out in the middle of the night and wake up Mommy and Daddy!

Enjoy Logan!

Laboring Time for Labor Day!

Our poor little man didn't quite get the memo that a National Holiday, such as Labor Day, is a day to RELAX and CHILL OUT.

Jason and I were invited to an afternoon BBQ at our friends Randy & Becky's home in Pasadena. We got Logan all ready to go, fed him just before leaving, and even though he showed signs of major fussiness, we decided to make a run for it, figuring he would fall asleep in the car and at the very worst we could just feed him when we got to the party if he was still upset....boy was that an understatement!

He DID fall asleep in the car, but awoke as soon as we parked at the party...awesome. After a quick diaper change, that beautiful smile of his made an appearance...for about 10 minutes, then the screaming began...and didn't stop until we left a few hours later!

We're not sure what was going on with the little man- he missed his naps for the day, so that may have had something to do with it...but whatever it was, he crashed when we got home as soon as I laid him on my chest. He and I decided to camp out in the living room rather than try to get him re-situated in his I passed on having my husband as a cuddle buddy for the night, and instead snuggled up to a different man...Mr. Logan:
