Logan's Room

I've begun thinking about what to do with Logan's room when we get to the new house...as you know, Jason and I created a wonderful mural of a scene at "Laubster Cove" for his current room. Logan loves the mural and says 'Hi' to some of the characters each day (he particularly likes the turtle and gives him high 5's). Jas and I knew that at the new place we wanted to give Logan more Laubster Cove, but we weren't sure how to do it. The Mural would take a LOT of time, and now that Logan is mobile it may just be TOO difficult to do it (he was resting nicely in my belly the last time). So, instead of doing a full on mural this time around, we thought it would be fun to capture each of Logan's favorite characters on to small canvases and hang them somewhere in Logan's room. I completed "drawing" the characters tonight and did a mock layout of how I think we'll place them in Logan's room - I think on the wall his crib is on will be perfect!

Along with that, I started playing around with another picture I think will look great in his room. Of course, this is merely the image and I plan on painting frame to complete the look. I want to do the frame in a butterscotch color so that it matches the "L".

Cute huh? I can't take all of the credit though, I'm completely ripping this idea off from both Pinterest and Etsy...oh well! Why pay someone else to do something when you can do it just as easily yourself?

Words With Friends

Over the past week, Mr. Logan has begun spitting out a plethora of new words - it's been so much fun to realize his usual babbling is beginning to form into actual words (And a little frightening for Jason and I as we are finally realizing the day of watching our language is here!). I thought it would be fun to list all of the new words our favorite little boy is saying:

- Duck (Kind of acme out of nowhere with this one...we were giving him a bath, I handed him his rubber duckie and BAM he said "duck!")
- Moon (Every night, he points to the window and shouts "Moon! Moon! Moon!" Unfortunately, for the past 2 weeks, the moon has not been visible from our apartment, so he gets a little discouraged when he can't find it - we tell him the moon has gone "night night" which seems to be a good reason for why the moon would not be "out"...it's pretty amazing, however that Logan has SUCH an understanding of the moon - one day we were out around 3pm and the moon was visible - plain as day, Logan looked into the sky, pointed and said "Moon!" right at the moon! Also, when reading books that have a picture of the moon (as long as its round) he can point to it and say "moon!" I'm just amazed by his ability to comprehend something like that...obviously, he's a genius, a perfect, perfect genius)
- Plane (This one was SUPER  shocking! Lisette was out at the park with him when a bunch of planes flew by overhead, Lisette looked up and then Logan looked up, pointed and shouted "Pane!")
- Go! (He likes to shout "Go! Go! Go!" While running around our dining room table...sorry downstairs neighbors!)
- Shoe (he'll grab his shoes and bring them to Jas or I to put on him)
- Brock (This is my favorite...Brock is my BFF's son and Logan knows just who he is! He will say his name and then run over to or point to Brock's picture which is hanging on our fridge...FBFF's...Future Best Friends Forever!)
-Hi (yes, it's just as adorable as you would think it is)
-Five (in response to a request for a "High Five"...awesome)

Those are all of the NEW words I can think of, but I'm sure he'll come up with more each and every day...he babbles and babbles with such focused determination I know he's going to just wake up one morning and say "Good morning Mother, would you mind making me a spot of tea?" oh ya, he'll also be British :)

Old Toys and New Toys

When we were up North this summer for Jason's 1/2 Marathon, Grandma Blakeman gave Logan a very special toy - a little pull toy that looks like a queen bee! I believe she said this toy used to be Jason's and she kindly passed it down to Logan. He played with it for a little while and then grew tired of it, but recently he's brought it back out for some fun!

Logan has also recently become obsessed with Elmo. It's weird because all he knows of Elmo is from a little book called Elmo's Ducky Day - after reading that a few times, he would call out for anything red, tall and skinny...a red teddy bear, a red fire hydrant - and every time as soon as he gets closer to it, he scrunches his nose and yells "NO! No ELMO!" as if calling it out as an impostor. So, finally Jason and I decided to give in to his obsession and buy him his very own Elmo doll. We've snapped a few photos of Logan and his new buddy...he's been VERY sweet with him; feeding him cheerios, brushing his teeth and just simply hanging out with his new furry buddy!

Would you like an O Elmo?

How about a nice tooth scrub? Let me help you!

Thanks, Elmo for making our little guy so happy!
